I stumbled across this mind-boggling apartment complex in Alicante, Spain called La Muralla Roja or The Red Wall. This brightly-hued cliffside retreat was designed by architect Ricardo Bofill in 1973 who sought to challenge the thought of geometric constraints and ended up breaking every rule in the book leaving us with this oh-so-chic architectural wonder that continues to inspire.

For me the beauty is in the lines, shapes and the negative spaces created throughout and, of course, the kaleidoscope of colors that starkly shift from one wall to the next. And, that rooftop pool!!! I like to think of structures like this as Haute Couture Architecture. Happy Weekend!
